[Development of suicidal tendencies in schizophrenic adolescents and children].

The report is concerned with a clinical study of 197 schizophrenic patients (children and adolescents) who attempted suicide. The study demonstrated that this form of behaviour may be observed even in a relatively favorable variant of the disease. Of certain importance in the development of a suicidal attempt may be psychotraumatizing factors. This may be reflected in the subjective motivation and a certain shade of the main processual symptoms. In relation to the syndrome level, suicidally important may be not only a depressive condition but other affective disorders, such as anxiety, perplexity, fears and a malicious-agressive affect.
