Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is increasingly common but largely underrecognized. Untreated, it is associated with heart disease, stroke, and sudden nocturnal death. Simple clinical assessments can determine if a patient is likely to have OSA and is a candidate for diagnostic polysomnography.
