A Colorimetric and Fluorescent Sensor for Iron Recognition Based on Rhodamine Derivative.

A novel rhodamine based fluorescent sensor, L, was developed and investigated as a colorimetric and fluorescent sensor for Fe3+ in dimethyl sulfoxide. The compound L showed a good selectivity and sensitivity toward Fe3+ in the presence of large excess of other competitive ions. L can be used as a colorimetric and fluorescent sensor for Iron recognition in potential.
