The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of rotation frequency (rpm) of different polishing discs on the surface roughness of a nanohybrid resin composite material. 126 specimens were prepared in metal molds of 10 mm diameter and 2 mm depth using a nanohybrid resin composite material. The prepared specimens were kept in distilled water for 24 hours. Polishing treatments at 5k, 10k, 15k, and 20k rpm were applied to the nanohybrid resin composite material by grouping different brand polishing discs: Sof-Lex Contouring and Polishing Discs (3M Espe, USA) (3M Group), Optidisc (Kerr Corporation, USA) (Kerr Group), Super-Snap Rainbow Technique Kit (Shofu Dental, Japan) (Shofu Group), Finishing Disc (Bisco Dental, USA) (Bisco Group)...

A novel strategy for the treatment of allergic rhinitis results from the innovative combination of antihistamine and intranasal corticosteroid drugs. By combining two preparations with different mechanism of action, this novel approach facilitates quick and effective controls of all upper respiratory tract allergy symptoms. The article presents the results of a study of olopatadine hydrochloride and mometasone furoate fixed-dose combination (GSP301) administered intranasally from a spray formulation, with an attempt at positioning the treatment within the ARIA and EPOS guidelines...

Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is classified as group IV pulmonary hypertension, characterized by thrombotic occlusion of the pulmonary arteries leading to vascular stenosis or obstruction, progressive increase in pulmonary vascular resistance and pulmonary arterial pressure, and eventual right heart failure. Unlike other types of pulmonary hypertension, the prognosis of CTEPH can be significantly improved by surgery, vascular intervention, and/or targeted drug therapy. Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is the preferred treatment of choice for CTEPH...

Some nanomaterials with intrinsic protease-like activity have the advantages of good stability, biosafety, low price, large-scale preparation and unique property of nanomaterials, which are promising alternatives for natural proteases in various applications. An especial term, "nanoprotease", has been coined to stress the intrinsic proteolytic property of these nanomaterials. As a new generation of artificial proteases, they have become a burgeoning field, attracting many researchers to design and synthesize high performance nanoproteases...

In this paper, the S-scheme/Schottky heterojunction photocatalyst (CuInS2 /Bi/Bi2 MoO6 , CIS/Bi/BMO) was successfully constructed via a facile in-situ solvothermal method, aimed at enhancing its photocatalytic performance. The results of the study on the photocatalytic degradation of diclofenac sodium (DCF) under simulated solar light irradiation revealed that the as-prepared composite exhibited remarkable catalytic efficiency in comparison to the pristine Bi2 MoO6 and CuInS2 . The plasmonic bismuth (Bi) was formed during the solvothermal process...

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are the leading causes of death worldwide and interact closely with each other. Danhong Injection (DHI) is a widely used preparation for the co-treatment of brain and heart diseases (CTBH). However, the underlying molecular endotype mechanisms of DHI in the CTBH remain unclear. AIM OF THIS STUDY: To elucidate the underlying endotype mechanisms of DHI in the CTBH. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this study, we proposed a modular-based disease and drug-integrated analysis (MDDIA) strategy for elucidating the systematic CTBH mechanisms of DHI using high-throughput transcriptome-wide sequencing datasets of DHI in the treatment of patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP) and cerebral infarction (CI)...

Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models can help to understand the effects of gastric emptying on pharmacokinetics and in particular also provide a platform for understanding mechanisms of food effects, as well as extrapolation between different postprandial conditions, whether standardized clinical or patient-oriented, non-clinical conditions. By integrating biorelevant dissolution data from the GastroDuo dissolution model into a previously described mechanistic model of fed-state gastric emptying, we simulated the effects of a high-calorie high-fat meal on the pharmacokinetics of sildenafil, febuxostat, acetylsalicylic acid, theobromine and caffeine...

Accordingly, this study investigated the tendency of polymers to create hydrophobic domains, where lipophilic compounds may nest to support drug solubilisation and supersaturation...

Herein, a polymer-based bioadsorbent was prepared by cross-linking chitosan to filter mud and magnetic pectin (Ch-mPC@FM) for the removal of Bismark Brown R dye (BB-R) from wastewater. Morphological characterization analysis indicated that Ch-mPC@FM had a higher surface area and better pore structure than its components. The Artificial Neuron Network (ANN) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) were employed to evaluate the simulation and prediction of the adsorption process based on input variables like temperature, pH, dosage, initial BB-R dye concentration, and contact time...

BACKGROUND: Mercury (Hg) is a persistent pollutant occurring in the environment able to transition between different species. It can therefore be found in air, soil and water reservoirs becoming a present concern for the general population but also sensitive populations like pregnant women. Therefore, investigating organ-specific transfer mechanisms of Hg is mandatory for Hg toxicity testing. For this, an in vitro system using microporous inserts to monitor the transfer across an in vitro placental barrier has been used...

Schizophrenia affects approximately 1% of the world population. Genetics, epigenetics, and environmental factors are known to play a role in this psychiatric disorder. Coordination cages have been widely reported to bind a variety of guests, which are useful for chemical separation. Although the use of cages in the solid state benefits the recycling, the flexibility, dynamicity, and metal-ligand bond reversibility of solid-state cages are poor, preventing efficient guest encapsulation. Here we report a type of coordination cage-integrated solid materials that can be swelled into gel in water. In the dynamic system, the acetaldehyde removal rate and adsorption capacity of Br0.2 @UiO-66 were 93.25 % and 230.59 mg/g, respectively.
