PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Primary vaginal dilation is patient controlled, safe, less painful, and much lower cost compared with operative vaginoplasty and is considered first-line treatment for vaginal agenesis for women with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome and androgen insensitivity syndrome.
