[Shoulder-clinical introduction].

BACKGROUND: Radiological imaging plays a significant role in the diagnostics of shoulder pathologies. Based on a patient's medical history, physical examination and radiological imaging, it is possible to plan the further conservative or surgical treatment.

OBJECTIVES: Common pathologies of the shoulder and the correct radiological imaging are presented.

CONCLUSIONS: A rational and targeted use of radiological imaging, together with the medical history and physical examination allows correct diagnosis of pathologies of the shoulder joint.
