Lightning strikes in pregnancy.

We read with interest the recent Brief Report of Maxwell, et al. (1) tragically showing poor foetal outcome following lightning strike, including severe global neuropsychological impairment of the foetus. They suggest this is poorly recognised. While we agree with this assessment, the choice of literature supporting the contention that outcome in pregnancy may be otherwise good after lightning strike derives from electrical, not lightning, trauma.
