Klugman and Rasa Izadnegahdar from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation discuss the potentials and risks of antibiotic prophylaxis interventions for infectious disease outbreaks in rural regions, such as sub-Saharan Africa with very high mortality rates, when primary prophylactic vaccination programs are not yet available.
