Right Ureteral Carcinoma Suggested by 99mTc-DTPA Renography in a Patient With Left Pyelocaliceal Carcinoma.

Abdominal enhanced CT of a 72-year-old woman demonstrated 1 enhancing lesion in the left kidney, which suggested malignancy. No significant findings were reported in the right kidney and ureter. A Tc-DTPA renography was performed as part of the presurgical evaluation. However, the dynamics of urine elimination by the left kidney was normal, whereas elimination of the urine on the right one delayed, which was unexpected. The patient's CT images were further analyzed. An enhancing lesion in the right ureter was noted by further review, suggesting malignancy, which was subsequently pathologically proven as low-grade papillary urothelial carcinoma.
