Nickel-Titanium Wire as Suture Material: A New Technique for the Fixation of Skin.

PURPOSE: To introduce nickel-titanium wire as suture material for closure of incisions in cleft lip procedures.

METHOD: Closure of skin incisions using nickel-titanium wire as suture material, with postoperative follow-up wound evaluation.

RESULTS: There was excellent patient satisfaction and good cosmetic outcome.

CONCLUSION: Nickel-titanium wire is an excellent alternative for suture closure of cleft lip surgical incisions.
