The APA Awards for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest recognize persons who have advanced psychology as a science and/or profession by a single extraordinary achievement or a lifetime of outstanding contributions in the public interest. The 2017 recipient of the Award for Distinguished Early Career Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest is Kevin L. Nadal, who has advanced "scholarship on stigma through his work on microaggressions related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race/ethnicity, and religion."
