Decline in contraceptive use in India: A call for action.

Select estimates of contraceptive use in the 2015-16 National Family Health Survey (NFHS is equivalent to the Demographic and Health Survey in India) have come under the scrutiny of researchers and policy makers globally. Using four waves (1992-93, 1998-99, 2005-06, and 2015-16) of published NFHS reports, this article aims to highlight the change in Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR) and initiate a discussion to help investigate the reasons for the recent decline of CPR.
