Editorial Commentary: Yet Another Way to Measure Hip Surgery Patient Outcomes: Will This Ever End?

The Hip Preservation Surgery Expectations Survey (HPSES) developed by Mancuso et al. is an attempt to better predict outcome and/or discriminate between patients who are candidates for hip preservation surgery. The authors have ensured that patient input was paramount in the development of the survey. There are limitations to this study. However, with further prospective evaluation, this survey may provide important evaluative and discriminative information to improve patient selection.
