Journal of Ambulatory Care Management 2017 April
This commentary analyzes the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model within a framework of the 8 basic payment methods in health care. PCMHs are firmly within the fee-for-service tradition. Episode payment may strike a feasible balance for PCMHs, with newly available episode definitions presenting opportunities not previously available.
