Beta blockers and mortality after myocardial infarction.

The benefit of beta blockers to patients with heart failure is undisputed. However, most trials of their benefits after acute myocardial infarction were carried out decades ago, when reperfusion therapy was not undertaken and secondary prevention drugs, such as statins, were unavailable.
