One vaccinology? Overcoming challenges in vaccine development.

How might translational vaccinology contribute to tackling some of the greatest global health challenges of modern times? Camilla Benfield, a lecturer in virology at the Royal Veterinary College, recently attended an international conference that considered this question and how some of the key barriers to the development and launch of new global health vaccines might be overcome. Here, she highlights areas where cross-fertilisation of ideas and techniques between veterinary and human fields could have mutual benefit.
