Oral health for adults in care homes.

Nursing Standard 2016 September 8
Essential facts It is estimated that 80% of the 400,000-plus adults in UK care homes have dementia. More than half of older people in care homes have tooth decay, compared with 40% of over-75s and 33% of over-85s in other accommodation. Care home residents are likely to have fewer teeth, and not have enough teeth to eat or socialise comfortably.
