Women with the condition may not be aware of their condition at the time of childbirth, but they are at high risk of postpartum hemorrhage even days after birth. In this article we briefly review the condition and specific considerations for the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases. It is important for nurses who care for women during childbirth to have a keen understanding of this condition.
