PULSE: THE MEDICAL STUDENT SUPPLEMENT OF JAMA.

JAMA 1990 September 6
With this issue, Pulse begins its second full year as the medical student section of JAMA. The editorial board welcomes the submission of writing, research, and artwork. Individual departments, not necessarily represented in every issue of Pulse, include feature articles, research, abstracts, viewpoints (representing the opinions of individual authors), editorials (representing the consensus of the editorial board), the AMA-MSS chairperson's column, book and software reviews, clinical years (essays relating personal experiences), murmurs (notices of import to medical students), and cover art. Although Pulse does not currently include letters to the editor, we welcome responses and will consider letters for publication. Listed below are the general themes and deadlines for the 1990-1991 publication year. Submissions need not be restricted to these topics.Written submissions should be double spaced, in near letter quality, with nonjustified right margins, and without handwritten notations. Submissions on diskettes are welcome and should be.
