Analysis of pedigrees in dairy cattle segregating for bilateral strabismus with exophthalmus.
Journal of Animal Breeding and Genetics 1993 January 13
SUMMARY: Data on 10 pedigrees including 184 German Brown Swiss dairy cattle were analysed employing regressive logistic models of segregation analysis. Regarding the ascertainment of the pedigree, dominant Mendelian transmission contributed significantly to the occurrence of BCSE. The segregation analysis showed that a one locus autosomal recessive gene model is not sufficient to explain the observed segregation of BCSE.
