OBJECTIVE: This paper describes my experience as a psychiatric registrar working with indigenous communities in a remote setting in Far North Queensland.
CONCLUSIONS: Working in a remote environment provided an insight into how to engage culturally diverse Indigenous communities and an invaluable training experience.
