Your article on the "A-B-C's of heart health" in the October 2008 "Women's Heart Advisor" emphasized the importance of vitamin D for heart health. I am taking Synthroid 88mcg for hypothyroidism, and I recently read in a medical report that vitamin D is known to antagonize thyroid function--that excessive vitamin D supplementation can contribute to a loss of potassium and suppress thyroid function. The article says patients should avoid sources of extra vitamin D if they have a hypothyroid condition. Can you please address this?
