[Current views about the role of purin metabolism disorders in patients with arterial hypertension and losartan potentialities].

The analysis of correlation between cardiovascular diseases and hyperuricaemia as a component of methabolic syndrome has been performed; the emphasis has been done on predominant mechanism of its development -- reduction of renal clearance. The need for primary prophylaxis of stroke with a help of safe metabolically antihypertensive therapy has been substantiated. The results of secondary analysis of LIFE study represented its results on effective primary prophylaxis of stroke depending on the dynamic of serum uric acid levels taking into account uricosuric effect of losartan have been discussed.
