[Dydrogesterone (Duphaston) in the prevention of risk of ultrasound guided amniocentesis].

Oral administration of 20 mg per day Dydrogesterone was recommended in 28 pregnancies as a prevention of risks due to ultrasound guided amniocentesis. Reduction rate (3.6% vs. 5.0%) of uterine cramping and/or uterine contraction wave, observed in US were noticed comparing to the control (n = 40). No spontaneous abortion was noticed in both groups during two weeks follow up. Amniotic fluid leakage was noticed in 2.5% of control comparing to none in the Dydrogesterone group.
