In this era of digitalization, the role of information and communication technology (ICT) has significantly increased. The integration of ICT into the government system has improved efficiency and working processes. Some countries such as China have successfully integrated ICT into their governance system. However, many other countries especially the developing world are yet to effectively utilize the role of ICT in their governance structure and these countries are struggling to produce a better governance system...

An innovative triple optical sensor is presented that utilizes gold nanoclusters (GNCs) stabilized with ciprofloxacin (CIP) and bovine serum albumin (BSA). The sensor is designed to identify three critical metal ions, namely Cu2+ , Al3+ , and Hg2+ . Under 360 nm excitation, the synthesized CIP-BSA-GNCs demonstrate dual fluorescence emission with peaks at 448 nm (blue) and 612 nm (red). The red emission is associated with the interior of the CIP-BSA-GNCs, whereas the blue emission results from the surface-bound CIP molecules...

BACKGROUND: Dengue is the most common arboviral infection that spreads by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes, and is quickly gaining prominence as a major mosquito-borne viral disease. One of the major public health issues is dengue fever (DF), which can also cause dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) and dengue shock syndrome (DSS). Therefore, this study focused on comparison of dengue antigen non-structural protein (NS1) and immunoglobulin M (IgM) using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and immunochromatography test (ICT) for detection of dengue...

The fluorescence-quenching method is crucial in vitro analysis, particularly for immunochromatographic test strips (ICTs) using noble metal nanoparticles as probes. However, ICTs still fall short in meeting the requirements for the detection of traces biomarkers due to the noble metal nanoparticles can only quench fluorescence of the dyes within a confined distance. Interestingly, noble metal nanoparticles, such as Pt NPs cannot only perform fluorescence-quenching ability based on the Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET), but also show perfect oxidase-like catalytic performance on many kinds of substrates, such as 3,3',5,5' -tetramethylbenzidine (TMB)...

As a non-invasive body fluid, urine pH is one of the important biomarkers for diseases such as the kidneys. Therefore, rapid and accurate detection of urine pH is of great clinical significance. A novel fluorescent probe (SPPH-Cl) was developed based on Brooker's merocyanine skeleton for pH detection. The pKa of SPPH-Cl was adjusted to 6.55 using a phenolic hydroxyl ortho substitution strategy, therefore, the fluorescence response range of SPPH-Cl to pH covers the urine physiological pH range (4.6-8.0). SPPH-Cl has excellent water solubility, stable recoverability, wide anti-interference capability, and sensitive reactions to pH fluctuations in pure aqueous solutions...

To accelerate the pace in the field of photothermal therapy (PTT), it is urged to develop easily accessible photothermal agents (PTAs) showing high photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE). As a proof-of-concept, hereby a conventional strategy is presented to prepare donor-acceptor (D-A) structured PTAs through cycloaddition-retroelectrocyclization (CA-RE) reaction, and the resultant PTAs give high PCE upon near-infrared (NIR) irradiation. By joint experimental-theoretical study, these PTAs exhibit prominent D-A structure with strong intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) characteristics and significantly twisting between D and A units which account for the high PCEs...

The OVA-AuNCs were conjugated to salicylaldehyde via an imine linkage to form Salic_OVA-AuNCs conjugate. Ion computed tomography (iCT) is an imaging modality for the direct determination of the relative stopping power (RSP) distribution within a patient's body. Usually, this is done by estimating the path and energy loss of ions traversing the scanned volume utilising a tracking system and a separate residual energy detector. This study, on the other hand, introduces the first experimental study of a novel iCT approach based on time-of-flight (TOF) measurements, the so-called Sandwich TOF-iCT concept, which in contrast to any other iCT systems, does not require a residual energy detector for the RSP determination...

A benzoxazole-coumarin-based probe BOC, was synthesized and validated for its anion sensing ability and found to be effective in recognizing cyanide ions. Upon addition of cyanide, a spontaneous color change was observed that was visible to the naked eye. The sensitization process takes place with nucleophilic addition, and the cyanide ion added to the probe disrupts the intra molecular charge transfer transition (ICT) between the donor and acceptor units, causing the pink colored probe to become yellow. Ultraviolet and fluorescence methods were applied to measure the detection limits of probes with added cyanide ions, which were found to be 3...
