In recent years, substantial efforts have been devoted to exploring reduced graphene oxide/TiO2 (RGO/TiO2) composite materials; however, there is still a paucity of reports on the construction of reduced graphene oxide/TiO2 with oxygen vacancies (RGO/TiO2-OV) via a facile two-step wet chemistry approach. In this work, we show a proof-of-concept study follow RGO introduced into TiO2 with oxygen vacancies, the role of oxygen vacancies as active sites in reduced graphene oxide-modified TiO2. The photocatalytic performance and related properties of blank-TiO2, blank-TiO2 with oxygen vacancies (blank-TiO2-OV), RGO/TiO2, and RGO/TiO2-OV were comparatively studied...

The objective of this paper is to present an experimentally validated mechanistic model to predict the oxygen transfer rate coefficient (Kla) in aeration tanks for different water temperatures. Using experimental data created by Hunter and Vogelaar, the formula precisely reproduces experimental results for the standardized Kla at 20 °C, comparatively better than the current model used by ASCE 2-06 based on the equation Kla20 = Kla. ([Formula: see text])((20-T)) where T is in °C. Currently, reported values for [Formula: see text] range from 1...

Identifying variants from RNA-seq (transcriptome sequencing) data is a cost-effective and versatile alternative to whole-genome sequencing. However, current variant callers do not generally behave well with RNA-seq data due to reads encompassing intronic regions. We have developed a software programme called Opossum to address this problem. Opossum pre-processes RNA-seq reads prior to variant calling, and although it has been designed to work specifically with Platypus, it can be used equally well with other variant callers such as GATK HaplotypeCaller...
