The clinical manifestations of non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (NERD) are multiple and heterogeneous, and differ according to age and individual susceptibility. Weakly acidic reflux and the presence of gas in the refluxate could be relevant in the pathogenesis of symptoms. We present the case of a 3-year and 5-month-old child who came to the hospital with recurrent paroxysmal manifestations without fever assessed. The positive diagnosis was made using pH-metry associated with multichannel intraluminal impedance and glucose respiratory breath test, a new technique that allows positive diagnosis as well as establishes important connections regarding gas reflux and clinical symptomatology described by the patient...

Gastroesophageal reflux and bronchial asthma are frequently encountered comorbidities that maintain an ambivalent relationship, generating a vicious circle where gastroesophageal reflux increases asthmatic symptoms or precipitates bronchial asthma and asthma can trigger or worsen gastroesophageal reflux disease. Pathogenetic mechanisms of these interrelation are imperfectly understood, despite intense concerns of specialists in both areas. There have been incriminated: eso-bronchial constrictor vagal mediated reflexes, bronchial hyperreactivity, neurogenic inflammation induced by hydrochloric acid penetration in the oesofagus, airways hydrochloric acid microaspiration with asthmatic trigger effects, increased bronchial resistance or increased immune response to antigens...

The Authors report their experience of 13 cases of metastatic carcinoma of the pancreas, diagnosed over 350 pancreatic cancers examined by digestive angiography (4%). The rarity of this localization is emphasized and is affirmed that any organ may cause pancreatic metastasis (liver, bile ducts, oesofagus) although the kidney and the lung are more frequently the original sites. The pancreatic metastases were of different types but the multilocalized or the total forms don't prevail over the single ones. The angiographic modifications induced by these secondary lesions are evident but not characteristic and diagnosis only of pancreatic tumor can be evocated...
