PURPOSE OF REVIEW: This study will review the research on the effect of ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) on patients with glaucoma. RECENT FINDINGS: GBE appears to increase ocular blood flow in those with glaucoma. However, data on visual field outcomes are inconclusive. SUMMARY: GBE has been shown to have antioxidant and vascular effects, making it potentially effective in treating glaucoma.
