BACKGROUND AND AIM: The Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA©) is a globally used malnutrition screening, assessment, triage and monitoring tool. The aim of this study was to perform a linguistic and content validation of the translated and culturally adapted version of the PG-SGA for the Danish setting. METHOD: The study was conducted according to the International Society of Pharmaeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Principles of Good Practice for the Translational and Cultural Adaptation Process for Patient-Reported Outcomes Measures...

OBJECTIVE: To conduct a pharmacoeconomic analysis of using cladribine (in tablets) as a second-line treatment option for adult patients with highly active remitting multiple sclerosis in Russia. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Current treatment practice of highly active multiple sclerosis (natalizumab, fingolimod, alemtuzumab, ocrelizumab) was considered as a comparator for cladribine (in tablets). Clinical and economic study was conducted using the «cost minimization» method...

Objectives: The implementation of obstetric hybrid simulation and interprofessional collaboration between midwives and anesthetists in labor emergencies fostered the need to evaluate the impact of such a program. The original Interprofessional Attitude Scale (IPAS) assesses interprofessional attitudes among health professional students and includes the 2011 and 2016 Interprofessional Collaborative Practice report competency domains. The purpose of this study was to create a German version of the IPAS (G-IPAS) to use for the education of healthcare students...

This is a pharmaeconomic study to assess the impact of different, cost-specific pharmacological strategies on the recurrence rate of prescriptions in the treatment of cold symptoms. Data were obtained from a prospective cohort study reporting individual prescriptions histories of subjects experiencing cold symptoms, obtained by a stratified random sample of 316 subjects, clustered into 139 Italian families, followed up for 40 months. Costs of homeopathic and allopathic treatments were recorded within each prescription...

Septic complications are the most frequent and potentially lethal complications among patients treated for tumours. Respiratory tract infection, including pneumonia, is third most frequent of all infections occurring among patients undergoing surgical treatment. Of great clinical and pharmaeconomical importance is rational therapy with antibiotics, which lowers the risk of septic complications and sometimes even saves patients' lives. Azithromycin proved to be effective cure for environmental pneumonia. There has been presented a preliminary research on effectiveness of azithromicin in the treatment of septic pneumonia among patients treated for upper digestive tract cancers...

REVIEW

Stents have emerged as one of the major therapeutic tools for percutaneous intracoronary revascularization procedures. In fact, a stent is implanted in at least 30% of lesions attempted. Their clinical impact is huge because stenting has produced a decrease int the need for emergency surgery to 0.5%, with an incidence of acute myocardial infarction related to angioplasty of 2% and a death rate of < 1% despite unfavourable clinical and anatomical conditions treated. The initial price of stenting was a high frequency of subacute stent thrombosis and peripheral vascular complications, which has been solved...
