We report the case of a 60-year-old man who first presented with transient difficulty of word recall. Subsequent MRI revealed an invasive brain tumor in the left frontal lobe. The patient underwent open biopsy, and diffuse astrocytoma(WHO grade II)was diagnosed. However, the malignant potential of this tumor was not particularly low because of a few enhancement on preoperative evaluation, and radiation therapy was initially performed. PURPOSE: To investigate the relationship between the Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging (DKI) parameters and conventional metrics provided by Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in patients affected by Brain or Head and Neck (HN) cancer. A 63-year-old man presented with right-sided hemianopia and unsteady gait. Brain MRI revealed multiple hyperintense infarct-like lesions on diffusion-weighted images (DWI). Hyperintensity persisted in some of these lesions even after 6 weeks, although his symptoms were ameliorated then.
