Intestinal epithelial cells absorb nutrients, respond to microbes, function as a barrier and help to coordinate immune responses. The effect of oral administration of probiotic bacteria cell walls (PBCWs) in the stimulation of the immune system in healthy BALB/c mice was evaluated.
