The purpose of this study is to evaluate cytologically two cases of mammary fibromatosis (MF). Prior to FNAC, clinical and mammographic suspicion of carcinoma and fibroadenoma were present. In both cases cytology disclosed the presence of numerous spindle cells admixed with epithelial cells. The excision of mammographically suspect lesions of the breast is a problem, when these are non-palpable. Our experiences with intraoperative specimen radiography in 128 cases show that this method is very useful and appropriate to prove biopsy, especially if calcifications are present.
