Freshly isolated adult rabbit sinoatrial node cells (f-SANC) are an excellent model for studies of autonomic signaling, but are not amenable to genetic manipulation. We have developed and characterized a stable cultured rabbit SANC (c-SANC) model that is suitable for genetic manipulation to probe mechanisms of spontaneous action potential (AP) firing. We linked the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) to South Australian (SA) hospital outcome data in order to evaluate the association between Measles Mumps and Rubella (MMR) and Diphtheria Tetanus Pertussis (DTP) vaccines and convulsions. We have previously demonstrated that adenosine is deaminated to inosine in the isolated basolateral membrane (BLM) of kidney proximal tubules.
