Currently available dynamic surface tension (DST) measurement methods, such as Wilhelmy plate, droplet- or bubble-based methods, still have various experimental limitations such as the large size of the interface, convection in the solution, or a certain "dead time" at initial measurement. These limitations create inconsistencies for the kinetic analysis of surfactant adsorption/desorption, especially significant for ionic surfactants. When a solute is present in an aqueous droplet, the water activity in the droplet and the rate of droplet dissolution are both decreased (as compared to a pure water droplet). One of the main parameters that controls this effect is the dynamically changing solute concentration, and therefore water activity and chemical potential, at the droplet interface. This work addresses the importance of understanding how water activity changes during solution droplet dissolution. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signalling is activated by ligand-induced receptor dimerization. Notably, ligand binding also induces EGFR oligomerization, but the structures and functions of the oligomers are poorly understood. Here, we use fluorophore localization imaging with photobleaching to probe the structure of EGFR oligomers. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the epidemiology of and postintensive care unit (ICU) interventions for anxiety symptoms after critical illness. METHODS: We searched five databases (1970-2015) to identify studies assessing anxiety symptoms in adult ICU survivors. Data from studies using the most common assessment instrument were meta-analyzed. RESULTS: We identified 27 studies (2880 patients) among 27,334 citations. The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale-Anxiety (HADS-A) subscale was the most common instrument (81% of studies)...
