LS/Ibg (LS) and SS/Ibg (SS) mice differ in ethanol-induced duration of loss of righting response or sleep time, hypothermia, hyperglycemia, and blood ethanol concentrations at regaining righting response. These differences in response to ethanol are a result of differences in central nervous system sensitivity and are mediated by polygenic systems.
