BACKGROUND: Thyroid physiology and autoimmunity are altered in pregnancy. While oestradiol, cortisol, and TGF-β1 are implicated in these phenomena outside pregnancy, their associations with thyroid autoantibodies during pregnancy and postpartum are not thoroughly examined.
