IgA nephropathy is the most common form of primary glomerulonephritis. While associations of IgA and other glomerular diseases have been described, the association of IgA nephropathy with "primary" podocytopathy is rare and has not been reported in pregnancy, due in part to the infrequent use of kidney biopsy during pregnancy, and a frequent overlap with preeclampsia. We report the case of a 33-year-old woman with normal kidney function, referred in the 14th gestational week of her second pregnancy, due to nephrotic proteinuria and macroscopic hematuria...

Objective: To investigating formation or non-formation of bladder flap at Cesarean section on the complications during and after surgery. Materials and methods: This is a double-blind clinical trial study conducted during February 2014 to May 2015 on 64 pregnant women with gestational age of 36 weeks or more who were delivered by Cesarean section for the first time. They were randomly divided into two groups (intervention group: non-formation of bladder flap; control group: formation of bladder flap). The time to cut out the baby by Cesarean section, total duration of operation, bladder injury, intraoperative bleeding, hematocrit changes expected prior to during and following operation, postoperative pain, macroscopic and microscopic hematuria, postoperative complications and duration of hospitalization were compared between two groups...

BACKGROUND: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) during pregnancy is rare. Volume doubling time for RCC is estimated to be 72 weeks. CASE: A 28-year-old woman was assessed for macroscopic hematuria at 21 weeks' gestation. A renal ultrasound revealed a 3.4 cm right renal mass. After MRI, the most likely diagnosis seemed to be angiomyolipoma. The patient opted for conservative management, and the pregnancy continued to almost 36 weeks, at which time the mass had tripled in size...

BACKGROUND: The Nutcracker syndrome (mesoaortic compression of the left renal vein) is a rare condition which causes macroscopic hematuria and colic pain. METHODS: We have carried out a search in Medline database of the current trends in the management of this rare syndrome during pregnancy. RESULTS: We found four reports on diagnosis of the syndrome during pregnancy but there is no published articles concerning the management of pregnancy after diagnosis of a Nutcracker syndrome treated with a vascular stent...

Two cases of spontaneous rupture of the kidney are reported and the literature is reviewed. The clinical and pathological features of this uncommon disease and its treatment are discussed. In the first case the cause of retroperitoneal bleeding was a renal carcinoma, while in the second it was the result of renal metastases from gestational trophoblastic disease. The most common symptoms are an acute onset of flank or abdominal pain, macroscopic hematuria and a drop in the hemoglobin level. Resistance or a mass can be palpated...
