Vitellogenin (Vg) is a female-specific egg-yolk precursor protein, synthesized in the liver of fish in response to estrogens. In the present study, complete gene of phosvitinless vitellogenin (vgc) was sequenced, its 3D structure was predicted and validated by web-based softwares. The complete nucleotide sequence of vgc was 4126 bp which encodes for 1272 amino acids and showed the presence of three conserved domains viz. LPD_N, DUF1943 and DUF1944. The retrieved amino acid sequence of VgC protein was subjected to in silico analysis for understanding the structural and functional properties of protein...

Robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy (RPD) has a learning curve of approximately 30-250 cases to reach proficiency. The learning curve for laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD) at Duke University was previously defined as 50 cases. This study describes the RPD learning curve for a single surgeon following experience with LPD. LPD and RPD were retrospectively analyzed. Continuous pathologic and perioperative metrics were compared and learning curve were defined with respect to operative time using CUSUM analysis...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Other iatrogenic immunodeficiency-associated lymphoproliferative disorders (OIIA-LPD) are rare but well-known diseases that manifest during or after methotrexate (MTX) administration. Limited information is available on the clinical characteristics of OIIA-LPD of the lung because only a few cases have been reported. Thus, we aimed to assess the incidence and prognosis of patients with OIIA-LPD of the lung. METHODS: Patients with OIIA-LPD of the lung treated at our institution between January 2008 and July 2020 were retrospectively analysed...

INTRODUCTION: The lamina papyracea is the thin line between the ethmoid sinus and the medial orbital wall. Knowledge of the presence of the lamina papyracea dehiscence (LPD) bears critical importance to prevent misdiagnosis of fractures at this level and to define the anatomy before sinonasal surgery, including Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS). The present study is therefore intended to determine the incidence of LPD in paranasal computed tomography, to identify its imaging characteristics in CT, and to compare with the literature...

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is responsible for many B cell lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD) spanning subclinical infection to immunodeficiency-related neoplasms. EBV establishes a latent infection in the host B cell as defined histologically by the expression of EBV latent membrane proteins and nuclear antigens. Herein, we characterize the latency patterns of immunodeficiency-related neoplasms including post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLD) and therapy-related LPD (formerly iatrogenic) with latent membrane protein-1 (LMP-1) and EBV nuclear antigen-2 (EBNA-2) immunohistochemistry...

Insulin-mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling drives anabolic growth during organismal development; its late-life dysregulation contributes to aging and limits lifespans. Age-related regulatory mechanisms and functional consequences of insulin-mTOR remain incompletely understood. Here, we identify LPD-3 as a megaprotein that orchestrates the tempo of insulin-mTOR signaling during C. elegans aging. We find that an agonist insulin, INS-7, is drastically overproduced from early life and shortens lifespan in lpd-3 mutants...

A 73-year-old woman with a history of rheumatoid arthritis treated with methotrexate (MTX) for the last 10 years was referred to our hospital for a pancreatic tumor examination. Contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography revealed a 20-mm-diameter hypovascular tumor in the pancreatic tail. A hypoechoic mass with heterogeneous internal echo was found on an endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). An EUS-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) was performed with a 22-gauge Franseen-tip needle. Histologic examination of EUS-FNB specimens from the pancreatic tumor revealed the proliferation of atypical spindle cells...

Laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD) has gained popularity as an alternative to open pancreaticoduodenectomy (OPD), but comparative outcomes remain debated. The objective is to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing LPD and OPD on operative time, oncologic outcomes, bleeding, morbidity, and mortality. The inclusion criteria were comparative studies on LPD vs. OPD. Outcomes were pooled using random-effects meta-analysis. A total of 27 studies were included, and LPD had a substantially longer operative duration compared to the OPD procedure, with a mean increase of 56 minutes, but blood loss was reduced by an average of 123 mL in patients who underwent LPD...

In this study, a vitellogenin like1 gene (SfVg-like1) in Sogatella furcifera was identified. The open reading frame (ORF) encoded 1,321 amino acid sequence. Structure analysis reveals that the amino acid sequence of SfVg-like1 has 3 conserved LPD_N, DUF1943 and VWFD domains. Phylogenetic analyses showed that SfVg-like1 was clustered in the same branch with the Vg-like1 of Nilaparvata lugens (100% bootstrap value) compared with other Hemiptera insects Vgs associated with vitellogenesis. Temporo-spatial expression analyses showed that SfVg-like1 expressed during all stages, and in both genders...

Primary gastrointestinal (GI) T- and NK- cell lymphomas / lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD) are uncommon and they are usually aggressive in nature. However, T- and NK-cell lymphoma / LPD of the GI tract with indolent clinical course have been reported over the past two decades. Indolent T-cell LPD was formally proposed a decade ago in 2013, and 4 years later recognized as a provisional entity by the revised 4th Edition of WHO Classification of Tumors of Haematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissue in 2017. Indolent T-cell LPD of the GI tract has been changed to indolent T-cell lymphoma of the GI tract (ITCL-GI) as a distinct entity by the 5th edition of WHO Haematolymphoid Tumors, but the International Consensus Classification (ICC) of mature lymphoid neoplasms prefers indolent clonal T-cell LPD of the GI tract instead...
