Small penile size is worrying for most men and leads to poor self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. A penis can be enlarged in two ways: by increasing the length and by increasing the circumference. The purpose of this article is to present a new procedure of augmentation phalloplasty thst combines these two parts in the same operation with a new technique to fill in the dead space created by the suspensory ligament division. The lengthening of the penis is achieved with an inverted V-Y plasty followed by a division of the suspensory ligament of the penis all the way down the pubic symphysis...

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a glycosaminoglycan widely utilised in different fields of medicine. We aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the scientific evidence on the use of HA in andrology. A review of the literature to identify pertinent studies concerning the use of HA in andrology was carried out on the Medline, EMBASE, and the Cochrane databases, with no time restriction up to December 2022. Penile girth enlargement (PGE) using HA proved to be safe and effective in enhancing the diameter of the penis, with durable and satisfactory outcomes in long-term follow-up...

UNLABELLED: Penile enlargement surgery is the second most desired cosmetic procedure in men worldwide. The mainstay of penile lengthening procedures is a partial release of the penile suspensory ligament system. Concerns regarding erect penis stability after this procedure have been raised by the surgical community. This study describes the anatomical features of the penile suspensory ligament system and explores the stability mechanisms of the penis. METHODS: This study is subdivided in two parts: an anatomical analysis and a clinical analysis...

Sclerosing lymphangitis is a rare penile lesion characterized by a cord-like, firm swelling at the penile coronal sulcus. It affects males between the ages of 30 and 40 and usually resolves spontaneously. Due to the rarity of this condition, we decided to report this case. Herein, we present a case of a 35-year-old male that was evaluated for a painless, cord-like, penile lesion that enlarges during erection, characteristic of sclerosing lymphangitis.

5α-reductase type 2 (5αRD2) deficiency is a 46,XY disorder of sex development caused by impaired conversion of testosterone (T) to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Penile enlargement therapy is important for male patients with 46,XY 5αRD2 deficiency who have undermasculinized external genitalia, such as severe micropenis. High-dose T and percutaneous DHT replacement are reportedly efficacious for penile enlargement in patients with this disorder. We presented herein the longitudinal course of four patients with 46,XY 5αRD2 deficiency who received T and DHT...

Placement of penile prosthesis had been well described in the outpatient setting, however, one barrier to same-day discharge is postoperative urinary retention (POUR). POUR remains a condition encountered during ambulatory surgical procedures and has yet to be characterized in patients undergoing penile prosthesis. We characterized POUR in a cohort of penile prosthesis recipients along with risk factors and management. Patients undergoing penile prosthesis implantation from 2014 through 2020 without pre-existing retention were included...

BACKGROUND: Augmentative phalloplasty is a controversial issue. A safe, stable, and efficient surgical method for penile girth enlargement (PGE) was not avaliable. This paper introduces a novel autologous scrotal flap-turning procedure "scrotal dartos flap method" for males with small penis syndrome (SPS) and addresses its efficacy and safety. METHODS: A single-centered, prospective study was conducted at the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, where 29 patients were treated with "scrotal dartos flap method"...

OBJECTIVE: Peripheral precocious puberty (PP) is an infrequent etiology for early sexual development. Intracranial germ cell tumors (GCTs) are rare but can present infrequently with PP with the rate of development affected by the degree of tumor hormone production. Our objective was to describe a young boy with a β-human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)-secreting intracranial GCT with an extremely elevated testosterone level, who presented with rapidly progressive PP. CASE REPORT: A 5-year-old boy presented with penile growth plus pubic hair, deepening voice, and body odor for 3 months...

A 58-year-old man with large penile wound and enlarged regional lymph node was suspected of having disseminated penile cancer. FDG PET/CT for primary staging showed high FDG uptake on penis and in several enlarged lymph nodes. However, biopsies revealed no signs of malignancy, but ulceration, inflammation, fibrosis, and spirochetes. Furthermore, Wassermann test was positive. The patient was then treated for syphilis. To our knowledge, this is the first report on FDG PET/CT in a patient suspected of having penile cancer that turned out to be syphilis...

Treatment-emergent transformed neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) is a highly aggressive type of prostate cancer that may arise from typical adenocarcinoma of the prostate, which is associated with rapidly progressive disease involving visceral sites and refractoriness to hormonal therapy. We present the case of a 74-year old male with a known history of stable prostate adenocarcinoma treated with transurethral prostate resection, local radiotherapy (RT), and androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) in 2020 who presented to the emergency room with complaints of shoulder and anterior chest pain, dyspnoea, and fatigue...

Penile neoplasm is uncommon, and multiple penile schwannomas are even rarer. We report a case of a 37-year-old man with multiple schwannomas on the left side of the penis, which had been present for more than 10 years without significant enlargement during erection and had recently been associated with mild pain. Ultrasonography revealed several subcutaneous heterogeneous hypoechoic of penile, the larger of which was approximately 1.9 × 0.9 cm. All patients had previously undergone repeat urethral dilatation. The patients underwent spiral embedded flap urethroplasty to enlarge the outer urethral opening...

Laser technology has been used in Urology since the 80s with a lot of different applications in endoscopic and open surgery. With the developments of the technology and the introduction of new active medium and source of laser energy, this technology have become the gold standard not only in stone surgery but even in benign prostate enlargement (BPE) surgical treatment. Regarding urologic oncology, laser energy has now reached an important role in focal therapy and in conservative treatment. The possibility of having better functional outcomes without any relevant impact on oncological results led to an increased use of laser in penile surgery, with a significant mention in urological guidelines for this option...

Penile squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a rare malignant tumor in males with a poor prognosis. Currently, the primary treatment is surgery. Recurrent cases have limited treatment options after failed radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The therapeutic effect of immunotherapy in penile SCCs has not been reported. Tislelizumab, a new PD1 inhibitor, has shown a satisfactory impact in treating head and neck SCC and lung SCC combined with chemotherapy. However, there is currently no report on its efficacy in penile SCC...

The reason behind the spread of penis enlargement practices over time is rooted in the virility that the appearance of the genitals can give a man, as well as an altered perception of his own body. The approach should be to modulate the interventions on the real needs of patients, carefully evaluating the history, the psychological picture, and possible surgical advantages. The aim of this study was to shed light on cosmetic surgery of male genitalia through minimally invasive and more radical techniques, with the purpose of laying the foundation for possible indications and recommendations for the future...
