Based on the leadership-member exchange perspective, this study proposes that subordinates are more likely to express their voice in a leader-supported work environment, and this relationship is stronger when they have close social ties with their supervisor. In the case of subordinates supported by supervisors, public service motivation serves as a psychological mechanism to promote them to express voice behavior. This study also explains the boundary effect of the supervisor-subordinate's guanxi perspective in affecting supervisor support and subordinate's voice behavior...

The bi-facial photovoltaic sunshade (BiPVS) is an innovative solution that utilizes vertically mounted bi-facial photovoltaic modules to provide shading. The BiPVS is capable of converting incident solar radiation into electricity on both the front and rear sides of the module, resulting in higher electrical efficiency compared to traditional mono-facial PV sunshades. The BiPVS has great potential as a sustainable solution for building shading and energy generation, which allows for improved indoor light/thermal environment and building energy efficiency...

Bam! Thunk! Bam! I awaken to commotion at my front door. Clash! Boom! It sounds like someone is trying to knock down my door. I hear voices outside my ground-floor apartment. My boyfriend, Kenneth, wakes up immediately. The banging is getting louder and louder. We are convinced that someone's trying to break in. We walk out of my bedroom and down the hallway. I watch as he asks who's at the door, but they don't identify themselves. A battering ram takes the door out. Kenneth, licensed to carry, starts firing to defend against the intruders...

BACKGROUND: Ethiopia introduced a social health insurance (SHI) scheme for the formal sector that will cost 3% of the monthly salary as a premium and provide universal health coverage. Since health care professionals (HCP) are the primary front-line service providers, their willingness to pay (WTP) for SHI may have a direct or indirect impact on how the programme is implemented. However, little is known about WTP for SHI among HCP. OBJECTIVE: To assess WTP for SHI and associated factors among government employee HCP in the North Wollo Zone, Northeast Ethiopia...

INTRODUCTION: Patient and caregiver engagement is critical, and often compromised, at points of transition between care settings, which are more common, and more challenging, for patients with complex medical problems. The consequences of poor care transitions are well-documented, both for patients and caregivers, and for the healthcare system. With an ageing population, there is greater need to focus on care transition experiences of older adults, who are often more medically complex, and more likely to require care from multiple providers across settings...

We investigated pattern-modified marked cards used in fraudulent gambling cases in Korea. These cards are printed with modifications to some of the repeated marks on the back, revealing the hand on the front and enabling fraudsters to deceive their victims. We proposed a method for identifying the modified part by first enhancing the card's color difference using an image processing technique and then calculating the similarity between the repeated basic patterns with a Siamese network. This method is fast and convenient, as it can determine the deformation with only 1 or 2 cards and can be implemented in mobile applications, allowing law enforcement officers to investigate quickly...

Knowledge gaps exist on association between law enforcement officer (LEO) anthropometric characteristics and perceived body armor fit, armor discomfort, and armor-caused pain. This study assessed the correlation and identified influential torso dimensions for armor sizing and design applications. Nine-hundreds and seventy-four LEOs across the U.S. participated in a national study on LEO armor use and body dimensions. Perceived ratings of armor fit, armor discomfort, and body pain were found moderately correlated with each other...

UNLABELLED: Front-of-pack nutrition labelling is an evidence-based nutrition intervention that is recommended by the World Health Organization and other health agencies as an effective non-communicable disease prevention strategy. To date, the types of front-of-pack labels that have been identified as being most effective have yet to be implemented in Southeast Asia. This has been partly attributed to extensive industry interference in nutrition policy development and implementation. This paper outlines the current state of food labelling policy in the region, describes observed industry interference tactics, and provides recommendations for how governments in Southeast Asia can address this interference to deliver best-practice nutrition labelling to improve diets at the population level...

INTRODUCTION: Documentation of patient care is essential for both out-of-hospital and in-hospital clinical management. Secondarily, documentation is key for monitoring and improving quality; however, in some EMS systems initial care is often provided by non-transporting agencies whose personnel may not routinely complete patient care reports. Limited data exist describing effective methods for increasing complete patient care documentation among non-transporting agencies. The aim of this quality improvement project was to increase electronic health record (EHR) documentation compliance in a large urban fire-based non-transporting EMS agency...

With the arrival of coronavirus in Mexico, doctors' offices adjacent to private pharmacies (DAPPs) played a major role in the diagnosis, care, and prevention of Covid-19, providing treatment for 11.7% to 23% of people with Covid-19 symptoms according to national surveys. Therefore, this article seeks to identify the role of DAPPs as a private health system providing care for patients with Covid-19 symptoms in the city of Oaxaca, and to describe and analyze the factors that influenced their utilization. Using a qualitative methodology, twelve physicians were interviewed and 59 users responded to a questionnaire at doctors' offices adjacent to pharmacies in the municipality of Oaxaca de Juárez between September 2020 and August 2022...

INTRODUCTION: In a cannot intubate, cannot oxygenate scenario (CICO), emergency front of neck access (eFONA) is the final lifesaving step in airway management to reverse hypoxia and prevent progression to brain injury, cardiac arrest and death. The Difficult Airway Society (DAS) guidelines advise the scalpel cricothyroidotomy method for eFONA. Anatomical and physiological changes in pregnancy exacerbate the already challenging obstetric airway. We aim to assess the impact made by introducing formal eFONA training to the perioperative medicine department of an obstetric hospital...

BACKGROUND: With increasing prevalence of opioid use disorders (OUDs) there is an urgent need for OUD trained front line primary care providers (PCPs) who can help improve patient adherence to addiction treatment. Unfortunately, most physicians have had limited training for treating patients with addiction, leaving clinicians under prepared.
