Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a cluster of cardiovascular risk factors including obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia. Here, we report a 43-year-old man with obesity, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, hyperuricemia and mild liver dysfunctions. Lupid (Lupineus luteus) and therapeutic lifestyle change (TLC) were suggested as therapeutic intervention for the present case for 6 months. We describe a case of the Syndrome of Retracted Lung (SRL), a very rare entity which is part of the respiratory pathology that may be seen in the Lupus Erithematosus Systemic (LES). Detailed clinical data are presented and general relevant aspects related to this type of lupidic manifestation are reviewed.
