Drift of floating debris is studied with a 2D Lagrangian model with stochastic beaching and sedimentation of plastics. An ensemble of >1010 virtual particles is tracked from anthropogenic sources (coastal human populations, rivers, shipping lanes) to environmental destinations (sea surface, coastlines, seabed). Daily analyses of ocean currents and waves provided by CMEMS at a horizontal resolution of 1/16° are used to force the plastics. Charged organic chemicals are a prevailing challenge for toxicity modelling. In this contribution we strive to recapitulate the lessons learned from the well-known modelling of narcosis (or baseline toxicity) of neutral chemicals and apply the concept to charged chemicals. First we reevaluate the organism- and chemical independent critical membrane concentration causing 50% mortality,.cmem(tox), based on a critical revision of a previously published toxicity dataset for neutral chemicals. CMEM model for calculating time based instantaneous emission from light duty diesel vehicle and its input parameters were introduced. On-board test data were used to validate the simulation results. The relative error of THC, CO, and NOx are 14.2%, 3.7% and 32.7%, respectively, while the correlation coefficients reach 0.73, 0.72 and 0.87. The instantaneous emissions of the light duty diesel vehicle simulated by CMEM model are strongly coherent with the transient driving cycle in Shanghai. The simulation of instantaneous emissions and fuel economy under the ECE-15 cycle, FTP cycle, Japan 10-15 cycle and the cycle of shanghai arterial road show that the instantaneous emissions decline with the increase of the vehicle speed, especially from 0-10 km x h(-1) to 10-20 km x h(-1)...

Chromatographic resins of a family of linear Fc-binding hexamer peptides (HWRGWV, HYFKFD, and HFRRHL) exhibited the ability to selectively adsorb and isolate human IgG (hIgG) from complete mammalian cell culture medium (cMEM). Among them, the HWRGWV resin with a peptide density of 0.08 mequiv./g of resin was able to purify hIgG from cMEM with both purity and yield as high as 95%, comparable to Protein A and A2P agarose gels.
