AIMS: At the time of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic wearing surgical mask (SM) is recommended for the prevention of contracting or exposing others to airborne transmission of COVID-19. It is somewhat controversial whether wearing SM during exercise affects performance and health status and/or may influence the results. In order to give an answer we planned a prospective, randomized, crossover study to evaluate the effects of wearing a SM or no-SM in 33 (17 male) physically active helthy subjects during a graded exercise cycle ergometry test...

This document is the update of the Consensus published by SAP in 2014, so that no child nor adolescent is excluded from their right to health and physical activity. The periodic medical control and the school physical education are fundamental tools. As a result, of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, sports practice decreased dramatically. Recommendations are formulated that serve as a reference to pediatricians, members of health care teams, educational institutions, and sports at the local, regional, and national level in the preparation of the health certificate for a child or adolescent who will participate in physical or sports activities...

The novel C/Fe-FeVO₄ composite photocatalyst were synthesized by using a two-step hydrothermal synthesis method. Through a detailed exploration on the chemical and phisical properties by some spectroscopic and analytical techniques, the as-prepared C/Fe-FeVO₄ exhibted a nanosheet and meso porosity structure. Accordingly, we further utilized this C/Fe-FeVO₄ composite as a photocatalist for degradating the notorious ciprofloxacin (CIP) under simulated solar light (SSL) irradiation. Due to its outstanding catalytic properties, the C/Fe-FeVO₄ exhibited superior photocatalytic activity...

BACKGROUND: Falls in older people are a leading causes of unintentional injury. Due to an ageing population, injuries are likely to increase unless more is done to reduce older people's falls risk. In clinical trials, the Falls Management Exercise (FaME) programme has reduced the rate of falls and falls-related injuries in community-dwelling older adults. However, the commissioning of FaME is inconsistent across England, potentially due to a lack of evidence that FaME can be delivered effectively in a 'real world' setting...

INTRODUCTION: Purpose of the study was to analyze the quality of life and psychiatric symptomatology in patients suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. METHODS: In this study were enrolled 108 patients: 67 cases (Ulcerative Colitis in 39 patients, Crohn's Disease in 28 cases) and 41 controls (patients suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Patients were subjected to Self-Report Symptom Inventory-Revised (SCL-90-R) to analyze general psychiatric symptomatology; Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D) to analyze depressive symptomatology; Short Form-36 (SF-36) to evaluate the quality of life...

We present a strategy of a complex rehabilitation in children with pffd before and after Van Nes rotationplasty. The rehabilitation proces is divided into tree stages: preoperative, in which general exercises, swimming etc. are used to improve patient's general phisical condition with special care to improve ankle range of motion and to strenghten the muscles: gastrocnemius, quadriceps femoris and glutei on the afected side. Second stage begines whith the cast removal. Gentle ankle manipulations, passive and in about a 0 days after the cast removal, active ankle movements are excercised...

OBJECTIVE: We present a new case of trombosis of the superficial dorsal penis vein called Penile Mondor's disease. The characteristics of the disease are reviewed and the most usual diagnostic and therapeutic methods. METHODS: The case of a 41 year old man is reviewed who consulted for pain and induration on the proximal part of the penis. RESULTS: After phisical examination and Eco-doppler was made the diagnosis of Mondor's disease. He receibed treatment with non steroidal antiinflamatories and antibiotics...
