Coronary cameral fistulas (CCFs) are rare arteriovenous malformations that may be congenital or acquired. The presentation of CCFs varies from asymptomatic in early age to symptomatic and start of complications upon aging. Although percutaneous closure with embolization can also be done, surgical closure of CCFs is a gold standard of treatment. We present the case of a 20-year-old patient with a fistula connecting right coronary artery and the right atrium, along with aortic valve endocarditis and congestive cardiac failure...

Background: Aortopulmonary fistula is a rare complication of ascending aorta pathology. Presentation is most commonly dramatic with acute onset chest pain or heart failure secondary to left to right shunting. We describe a patient with acquired aortopulmonary fistula who had an insidious onset of heart failure as his presenting complaint. We also highlight the utility of multimodality cardiac imaging in establishing the diagnosis. Case summary: A 79-year-old male patient with a history of coronary artery bypass graft surgery and mechanical aortic valve replacement, 23 years prior, presented with exertional dyspnoea of 7 months duration...

Background: Acquired coronary cameral fistula is an extremely rare condition that involves an abnormal communication between a coronary artery and a cardiac chamber. It usually occurs after chest trauma or cardiovascular interventions, such as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and is associated with various outcomes, ranging from a stable status to haemodynamic instability. Acquired coronary cameral fistula frequently arises from the right coronary artery and drains generally into the right ventricle...

Iatrogenic aortocoronary venous fistula arising from anastomosing an aortocoronary graft to a cardiac vein is a rare a complication following coronary artery bypass grafting. A 75-year-old male patient was admitted with recurrent angina accompanied by congestive heart failure six years after surgery. He was diagnosed with an acquired saphenous vein graft-to- cardiac vein fistula. Based on the estimation of risks versus benefits, the heart team decided to perform percutaneous closure with a vascular occlusion device...

Coronary-cameral fistulas (CCFs) are mostly congenital in origin and rarely acquired. Clinical symptoms are decided by the hemodynamic significance of the coronary fistula. Even in asymptomatic patients, it is essential to know about coronary CCF particularly if the patient is to undergo cardiac surgery with cardioplegic cardiac arrest. Incidental finding of coronary CCF should never be ignored. Intraoperative myocardial protection and methods used are significantly influenced by such fistula.

BACKGROUND: A coronary cameral fistula is a rare connection between a coronary artery and a cardiac chamber or vein bypassing the cardiac capillary bed system. Most of these fistulae are congenital and solitary, although they can be acquired and multiple. CASES PRESENTATION: Case 1: A 10-year-old black South African boy presented with a long-standing history of fatigue; he had a heart murmur, and a bounding pulse and wide pulse pressure. An echocardiogram demonstrated a large coronary cameral fistula involving his left coronary artery and his left ventricle...

Coronary artery fistula is a rare congenital or acquired anomaly. It involves an abnormal connection between the coronary artery and the cardiac chambers or the large thoracic vessels. In some cases, the feeding coronary artery can become extremely dilated. The treatment includes a transcatheter or a surgical intervention depending on the complexity of the anomaly. We present the surgical treatment of the coronary artery to coronary sinus fistula, which includes the complete exclusion of the giant right coronary artery and followed by triple bypass surgery...

Aortoventricular fistula, a rare congenital or acquired defect of the aortic wall, is characterized by an abnormal connection between the aorta and one of the ventricles. Symptom severity correlates with the diameter of the fistula and with the acute or chronic timing of presentation. The diagnosis is usually made by using echocardiography, and surgical treatment is necessary to avoid progression to heart failure. We describe the case of a 27-year-old woman who underwent successful surgical repair of an aortoventricular fistula that originated from the right coronary sinus and extended into the left ventricle through the interventricular septum...

Coronary artery fistulae (CAF) are rare congenital or acquired in which a connection forms between one of the coronary arteries and a heart chamber or with other vessels. This paper describes three cases of CAF along with their initial presentation, imaging findings and management. The first case is a rare form of CAF in which the left circumflex coronary artery fistula empty into left ventricle. We discuss the different types of CAF along with their prevalence and the different imaging tools that could be utilized to identify CAF...

Vieussens' ring is an embryologic remnant that acquires clinical significance as an intercoronary collateral vessel in advanced coronary artery disease. Its origin as a peritruncal structure early in embryologic development, and its association with congenital pulmonary artery fistula, provides a crucial insight into the early stages of the coronary circulation. This review describes the embryologic basis of Vieussens' ring in relation to the formation of the coronary arteries, which explains its location, appearance, and clinical importance...

Coronary arteriovenous fistulas are congenital or acquired abnormalities characterized by abnormal communication between the coronary circulation and cardiac chambers or other vessels. Frequently, patients are asymptomatic and their diagnosis can be carried out incidentally by echocardiography. Knowing the echocardiographic findings characteristic of this malformation will prevent the diagnosis from going unnoticed.

Left atrial myxoma is the common benign tumor of heart. Coronary arteries may supply these tumor. Considering the vascular nature of the tumor, acquired coronary cameral fistula(CCF) can be a possibility postexcision of the left atrial myxoma. Here, we discuss a case of 53-year-old female patient, who developed acquired CCF, following excision of the tumor and the role of transesophageal echocardiography intraoperatively in diagnosis.

BACKGROUND: Coronary artery fistula, first described by Krause in 1865, is an abnormal communication between the coronary artery and one of the four chambers of the heart or one of the great vessels. The communications are often congenital but may also be acquired from trauma or invasive cardiovascular procedures. Half of the cases present with angina pectoris whereas the remaining half are incidentally detected on echocardiogram or angiogram performed for an unrelated reason. Takotsubo cardiomyopathy or stress-induced cardiomyopathy is characterized by transient left ventricular dysfunction with minimal elevation of cardiac biomarkers in the absence of underlying coronary artery disease...

Coronary arteriovenous fistula (CAVF) is a rare condition defined as an anomalous termination of the coronary arteries. The etiology of CAVF is either congenital or acquired, and iatrogenic CAVF is most commonly caused by cardiovascular surgery or percutaneous intervention. Most of the prenatally diagnosed CAVFs were related to complex heart disease, and only few cases of an isolated CAVF have been reported to date. We successfully diagnosed an isolated CAVF by fetal echocardiography at 25.3 weeks of gestation...

Coronary artery fistula (CAF) is an uncommon anomaly that is usually congenital but can be acquired. Although most patients are asymptomatic, some may present with congestive heart failure, infective endocarditis, myocardial ischemia or rupture. In the past, surgical ligation was the only option in the management of CAF, but since 1983, transcatheter closure of CAF has been increasing as an alternative to surgery. We report a 3-year-old boy, presented in Queen Alia Heart Institute, who underwent successful transcatheter closure of a large fistula communicating the distal part of the right coronary artery to the right ventricle...

Coronary artery fistulae are rare cardiac anomalies with a prevalence of 0.2% of all the patients undergoing coronary angiography. The majority of them are congenital and generally origin from the right coronary artery. Occasionally acquired (mostly iatrogenic) fistulae can develop. Although frequently subclinical, symptoms of angina and congestive heart failure may occur. We present an unusual well-illustrated case of a strongly dilated circumflex coronary artery with formation of two giant aneurysms and fistulous communication towards the right atrium...

The most severe complications of KD are coronary artery lesions (CAL), including dilation, fistula, aneurysm, arterial remodeling, stenosis, and occlusion...
