INTRODUCTION: We occasionally encounter irregular marginated masses discovered incidentally in young individuals. In most cases, further investigations are conducted to assess the presence of a primary malignancy, as these masses often raise suspicions of malignancy. However, rare exceptional cases leave us perplexed. Granulomas arising from common lung infections and those induced by foreign substances can often pose challenge in distinguishing them from lung cancer. Therefore, we aimed to present a case of multiple pulmonary granulomatosis following cosmetic procedure...

Botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT-A, popularly referred to as 'botox') is a muscle-relaxant that is injected into the mimic facial muscles to soften wrinkles in more than two percent of Dutch women annually. A similar number of women undergo filler injections with hyaluronic acid hydrogels, used to counteract the aging appearance of the skin, or to create desired facial contours. Complications are generally mild in nature and rare (certainly compared to surgical complication rates) and include nodules, bumps and a temporary heavy feeling of the eyebrows...

The aim of this article is to examine the existing literature on lip rejuvenation and perioral procedures related to lip rejuvenation. Additionally, this article aims to highlight the importance of addressing perioral areas alongside lip rejuvenation procedures, rather than solely focusing on lip rejuvenation...

Non-surgical facial aesthetics (NSFA) are cosmetic procedures intended to reduce signs of ageing and provide facial rejuvenation. There is currently no recommendation for NSFA to be included in the undergraduate dental curriculum globally. This study aims to gain the views of final year dental students about pursuing a career in NSFA. An online survey was completed by 114 final year dental students across two English Universities. A total of 67% (77/114) of students would pursue a career in NSFA. A total of 76% (87/114) and 75% (86/114) of students were not aware of the complications associated with the administration of dermal fillers and Botox injections, respectively...

BACKGROUND: Historically, men have been shamed if they cared seemingly too much about their appearance and especially, if they pursued aesthetic surgery. However, due to the changing landscape of the culture, this stigma has seemed to decrease. Men have diverse and quickly changing interests in particular procedures that have not been readily explored in the currently available reports. To examine this, we analyzed interest in specific plastic surgery procedures in men over the last two decades using the Google Trends tool...

Glabellar frown lines, also known as worry lines, are a common sign of aging. The current treatment option for glabellar lines is subjective and ranges from economical anti-wrinkle creams and skin resurfacing techniques such as microdermabrasion and fillers to highly expensive facelifts. Botox® has been the mainstream treatment for decades, but the suggested time between treatments for most toxins is 12-16 weeks, and evidence shows that patients being treated for glabellar lines want longer-lasting results...

Facial aesthetic surgery is an emerging branch worldwide. India, a torchbearer country in facial plastic surgery, has seen tremendous growth in medical technology, resources, and clientele over the past century. This study aims to study past practices and current trends in facial plastic surgery and aesthetic procedures in India by individually addressing commonly performed nonsurgical procedures (Botox, Kybella [Allergan, Irvine, CA], fillers, threads, micro-focused ultrasound, and nonsurgical hair restoration), and surgical procedures (rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, hair transplant, and facelift)...

UNLABELLED: Facial filler is the most common type of cosmetic surgery next to Botox. Permanent filler is preferred nowadays due to low cost brought about by nonrecurring injection appointments. However, such fillers pose a higher risk for complications, with even greater adverse effects when the procedure is done using unknown dermal filler injections. This study aimed to establish an algorithm to categorize and manage patients that receive permanent fillers. METHODS: Twelve participants were presented to the service through emergency or as outpatient from November 2015 to May 2021...

Botulinum toxin and derma fillers have made their way into dentistry in recent years for both cosmetic and medicinal purposes. They are here to stay, and with more and more intraoral applications, they are quickly becoming a standard element of dental treatment. They offer the most important, minimally invasive procedures at a cheap cost and with little to no downtime. Botox and derma fillers are used together for rejuvenation and esthetic operations nowadays. The mechanism of action and numerous uses of Botox and derma fillers in the maxillofacial areas, as well as their future implications in dentistry are discussed in this article...

Injection of soft tissue fillers for esthetic purposes is considered a relatively simple, minimally invasive procedure. Although rare, significant complications exist and may occur in the setting of both non-medical grade and medical-grade silicone fillers, administered by untrained or trained providers . We report a case of a 61 y/o male with an unusual case of foreign body granulomas arising on his forehead and periorbital region for the past 3 years. He had no drug allergies or history of trauma. He only recalled administration of "Botox" near the affected area 20 years ago, although he acknowledged being unsure of the nature of the substance...
