OBJECTIVE: To present our experience with the Ovation Abdominal Stent Graft System (TriVascular Inc., Santa Rosa, CA) during endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) and compare results according to the type of anaesthesia. METHODS: We conducted a single-centre retrospective study including patients who underwent EVAR using the Ovation endograft between May 2011 and July 2014. Outcome was evaluated regarding pre-, peri- and immediate postoperative and follow-up measures...

PURPOSE: This study evaluated 2 years of follow-up of the Ovation Abdominal Stent Graft System (TriVascular Inc., Santa Rosa, CA, USA) for endovascular repair (EVAR) of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs). MATERIALS AND METHODS: This retrospective multicentre study included 36 patients (median age, 73.6 year) with AAAs (mean diameter, 5.65 cm) treated with the Ovation stent graft and followed up for at least 2 years. Safety and effectiveness of the Ovation stent graft were evaluated...

Advances in abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) endograft device technology have contributed to improved outcomes and durability of endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR), even in complex infrarenal aortic anatomies. However, stent graft failure secondary to endoleaks, migration, endotension and sac enlargement are persistent problems that can result in aneurysm rupture following EVAR.A symptomatic infrarenal AAA (4mm proximal neck) was treated initially with an Ovation Prime™ device (TriVascular, Inc., Santa Rosa, CA) in an off-label fashion, leading to type Ia endoleak moderately reduced by additional proximal neck ballooning...

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: To evaluate the mid-term safety and effectiveness of a novel stent graft for treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). METHODS: Thirty-three patients with AAA (20 males and 13 females; mean age: 71.3 y) were treated with the Ovation™ Abdominal Stent Graft System (TriVascular, Inc., Santa Rosa, CA, USA). Indications for endovascular aneurysm repair: AAA ≥ 5.5 cm, neck ≥ 7 mm, angulation ≤ 60° and with an inner wall diameter of no less than 16 mm and no greater than 30 mm; the presence of neck calcification and thrombosis is not much of a problem in this device because aortic seal is achieved with 2 polymer-filled sealing rings and the fixation by means of a suprarenal stent with 8 pairs of anchors...

When Juan Parodi implanted an endograft in a human body for the first time on September 7, 1990 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the delivery system of the handmade device was primitive, extremely rigid, and had a bulky profile of 27 French (F). Since then, stent-graft technology has evolved rapidly, limitations of earlier-generation devices have been overtaken, and endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) eligibility has increased enormously. Nevertheless (still) challenging aortoiliac anatomy such as short and complex proximal aortic neck seal zones and narrow access vessels are responsible for EVAR ineligibility in up to 50% of cases...

OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated 1-year safety and effectiveness outcomes of the United States regulatory trial for the Ovation Abdominal Stent Graft System (TriVascular Inc, Santa Rosa, Calif) for endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs). METHODS: This prospective, multicenter, single-arm trial was conducted at 36 sites in the United States, Germany, and Chile to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Ovation stent graft. From November 2009 to May 2011, 161 patients (88% males; mean age, 73 ± 8 years) with AAAs (mean diameter, 54 ± 9 mm) were treated with the Ovation stent graft...
