The authors define some limits for useful concentrations of propylene glycol (P.G.) by determination of inhibition produced in cell respiration from (crushed) mouse liver and in human cutaneous fibroblastic proliferation. They conclude that P.G. is able to inhibit both these physicological mechanisms from concentration as weak as 5.5% and 2% respectively. Prepuberal gynecomastia is extremely rare. We present a case of unilateral and idiopathic gynecomastia in a six years old male. Endocrinology test and anamnesis did not find pathology or drug ingestion. A mastectomy was performed, because the big size and progressive evolution of breast produced physicology problems. We review the literature and remark infrequent aspects of our case, also the complete clinic and pathologic study.

Since the introduction of the annuloplasty ring, many attempts have been made to obtain a flexible ring that preserves the physiological motion of the mitral annulus. We experimented with a new technique using autologous pericardium to construct a more flexible ring. Twenty patients underwent mitral valve repair for degenerative disease and were treated by a posterior pericardial annuloplasty and the usual valvuloplasty procedures.
