The availability of reliable information on local climatic-tourism conditions is a growing need due to the influence it exerts on the quality of the organizational strategy of tourist destination's, and travel experience. Evaluations of the tourism potential of the climate have been carried out on a daily or monthly resolution, thus limiting the collection of detailed information that makes it possible to fine-tune tourism management and operational decision-making on an intraday scale. This research is the first case study to analyse the climatic suitability for nature tourism, using the weather types method at hourly resolution...

Several second- and third-line immunotherapeutic options for patients with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) ineligible for autologous stem cell transplant are directed against the B-cell antigen CD19. The anti-CD19 monoclonal antibody tafasitamab, paired with the immunomodulator lenalidomide, mediates antibody-dependent cellular toxicity and cellular phagocytosis; the antibody-drug conjugate loncastuximab tesirine delivers the DNA-cross-linking agent tesirine via CD19 binding and internalization; and CD19-directed chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR-T) products are engineered from autologous T cells...

The Salt Lake City Mosquito Abatement District (SLCMAD) detected a 20,000-fold resistance to Lysinibacillus sphaericus (Lsph) in Culex pipiens occurring in catch basins of Salt Lake City during 2016. In response, SLCMAD suspended use of Lsph and rotated use of spinosyn and s-methoprene products for the next three years. At the end of the third year, Lsph was evaluated again and efficacy similar to susceptible colony strains. During the second year of Lsph use, technicians observed lack of control of larvae at some urban sites...

Tricuspid valve disease is an often underrecognized clinical problem that is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Unfortunately, patients will often present late in their disease course with severe right-sided heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and life-limiting symptoms that have few durable treatment options. Traditionally, the only treatment for tricuspid valve disease has been medical therapy or surgery; however, there have been increasing interest and success with the use of transcatheter tricuspid valve therapies over the past several years to treat patients with previously limited therapeutic options...

Urachal adenocarcinomas, constituting 10 % of bladder adenocarcinomas, pose a significant challenge with limited literature. A 43-year-old male presented with haematuria and abdominal pain, leading to surgical intervention for a 13 cm pelvic tumor. Histopathology identified an intestinal-type primary urachal adenocarcinoma, staged as IIIA, no recurrence on follow-up. Early detection is crucial for improved outcomes in these rare malignancies. While surgery remains the primary treatment, outcomes vary, emphasizing the need for research on standardized protocols...

Although liver involvement has been observed in over two-third cases of dengue viral infection, less than 1% cases progress to dengue-related acute liver failure (D-ALF). Various aspects of management of this disease remain debated including the need and timing of liver transplantation (LT). Moreover, the outcomes of LT for D-ALF have been suboptimal. We present four contrasting cases of D-ALF, two managed with LT and the other two conservatively to highlight the management dilemmas concerning LT in D-ALF...

Diabetes comprises a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia stemming from various factors. Current diabetes management primarily focuses on blood glucose control, yet it is inherently progressive, necessitating increased reliance on exogenous blood glucose control methods over time. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore novel intervention strategies addressing both diabetes and its complications. The human intestinal microbiota, often referred to as the "second genome", exhibits significant diversity and plays a pivotal role in insulin resistance, glucose and lipid metabolism, and inflammatory response...

Splenic hamartomas (SHs) are uncommon, benign vascular lesions of unclear etiology and are mostly found incidentally on abdominal images, at surgery, or at autopsy. Since the first case description, in 1861, less than 50 pediatric SH cases have been reported in the literature. In this article, we have performed an analysis of all SH cases in children published in the literature to date and presented our case of an 8-year-old male with SH. These lesions in children were shown to cause symptoms more often than in the adult population...

The coexistence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) within patients with cancer, known as cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT), stands as a prominent cause of mortality in this population. Over recent years, the incidence of VTE has demonstrated a steady increase across diverse tumor types, influenced by several factors such as patient management, tumor-specific risks, and treatment-related aspects. Furthermore, mutations in specific genes have been identified as potential contributors to increased CAT occurrence in particular cancer subtypes...
