Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is extremely common and has several consequences. However, most cases remain undiagnosed. One limitation is the lack of simple and validated methods for OSA diagnosis at home. The aim of this study was to validate a wireless high-resolution oximeter with a built-in accelerometer linked to a smartphone with automated cloud analysis (Biologix) that was compared with a home sleep test (HST, Apnea Link Air) performed on the same night. We recruited 670 patients out of a task force of 1013 patients with suspected OSA who were referred to our center for diagnosis...

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S): Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is an important treatment modality in the management of breast cancer-related brain metastases (BrM). Recent research has found Trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) to be effective against Her2+ BrM. However, the risk of radionecrosis (RN) with T-DM1 in combination with SRS is unclear. The objective of this study was to investigate factors associated with RN post-SRS in patients with Her2+ BrM. MATERIALS/METHODS: Patients with Her2+ BrM treated with SRS at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre between 2010 and 2020 were retrospectively identified...

ALX 111 [parathyroid hormone (1-84) - NPS Allelix, recombinant human parathyroid hormone, rhPTH (1-84), PREOS] is a full-length, recombinant human parathyroid hormone. It has potential as an anti-osteoporotic agent, due to its properties as a bone formation stimulant. This profile has been selected from R&D Insight, a pharmaceutical intelligence database produced by Adis International Ltd. It has been recommended that ALX 111 should be given for 1 to 2 years and may be given in combination with an antiresorptive agent, such as estrogen or a bisphosphonate...

Since the beginning of microgravity materials research, studies of diffusion in liquids have been performed as the typical research that efficiently uses the microgravity environment. Successful experiments in microgravity have demonstrated the ability of the Canadian Microgravity Program (QUEST I, QUELDs I and II) to make significant contributions to this field of international microgravity research. Recently, Millenium Biologix was selected to develop and build the advanced thermal environment facility (ATEN) for the International Space Station...

Stem cell-derived tyrosine kinase (STK) is a member of the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) receptor family. The ligand for STK, macrophage-stimulating protein (MSP), is a serum protein activated by members of the coagulation cascade. The RON gene is a human homolog of the murine STK. In this study we examined the role of MSP-RON in the signal pathway of human osteoclasts. Using anti-RON antibody, we detected RON expressed in multinucleated osteoclast-like cells (OCLs) formed in cultures of human bone marrow cells...
