Nucleobase modified neamines with a lysine as the linker (NbK-neamines) were synthesized and their binding toward hairpin RNAs derived from HIV-1 activator region were studied. NbK-neamines were bind those RNAs with micro molar level of binding affinities and compete with corresponding activator peptide for TAR RNA, but not for RRE RNA. In selective autophagy, the adaptor protein SQSTM1/p62 plays a critical role in recognizing/loading cargo (e.g., malfolded proteins) into autophagosomes for lysosomal degradation. Here we report that whereas SQSTM1/p62 levels fluctuated in a time-dependent manner during autophagy, inhibition or knockdown of Cdk9/cyclin T1 transcriptionally downregulated SQSTM1/p62 but did not affect autophagic flux. The main aim of the biobank is to store and to maintain biomaterials for studying chronic disease, identifying risk factors of specific diseases, and applying personalized drug therapies. This report provides a review of biobanks, including Korean biobanks and an analysis of sample volumes, regulations, policies, and ethical issues of the biobank.
